The firm

Law firm in Bordeaux and Porto for France–Portugal projects

Our mission

Defending your rights, protecting your future, transforming your everyday life.

When I founded MDO AVOCATS, I did not want to create a firm that simply handled cases. I wanted to build a team able to understand what each situation truly represents: a business to develop, assets to pass on, a family to protect, or a project to bring to life. Behind every legal question is a person entrusting us with an essential part of their life.

Our mission is to turn that trust into safer decisions and clearer prospects. This requires expertise, of course, but also rigour, availability and courage at decisive moments. We take the time to explain, anticipate and speak frankly, so that our clients can move forward with clarity, in France and Portugal.

That is the meaning of our collective commitment: putting legal excellence to work for a tangible human impact. Together with my team, I want to nurture a practice grounded in responsibility, courtesy, teamwork and a passion for our profession. Defending your rights, protecting your future, transforming your everyday life is more than a phrase; it is the daily standard that guides everything we do.

Pierre Emmanuel De Oliveira

Founding lawyer

A lawyer admitted to the Bars of Bordeaux (France) and Porto (Portugal), Mr de Oliveira holds a doctorate in law, a DEA postgraduate qualification in private and European law and a maîtrise in business law. These qualifications have been academically recognised in Portugal, granting him the corresponding Portuguese university equivalencies. He also holds a master's degree in accounting and financial sciences and techniques, and has completed university training in notarial law at the University of Coimbra.

For more than ten years, he taught at university level, notably on the second year of a master's programme in the law of business organisations and corporate assets.

Before entering the legal profession, he founded and ran several businesses over fourteen years in property, construction, new technologies and the ceramics industry. This substantial entrepreneurial experience gives him a precise understanding of the economic, financial and strategic realities faced by business leaders and investors.

His expertise at the intersection of law, management and business enables him to provide pragmatic, international support that is particularly valued in cross-border transactions involving France, Portugal and the other Member States of the European Union.
